I used to be an academic researcher in computer vision, then I got enthusiastic about the Microsoft Kinect in 2011, participated to the early Kinect hacking frenesy and developed the opensource RGBDemo software. The traction around it led Nicolas Tisserand and me to co-found a company, become part of a Microsoft/Techstars program and build Skanect. After the company got acquired by Occipital I have worked on multiple 3d computer vision projects around 3d reconstruction, RGBD tracking, SLAM, mixed reality, usually on mobile and in real-time. I am now part of a small dedicated team focusing on 3D Perception for VR/AR at Arcturus Industries.

I used to be a postdoc at University Carlos III of Madrid (http://roboticslab.uc3m.es), and in late 2011 I co-founded ManCTL with Nicolas Tisserand to develop Skanect, a low-cost 3D scanning software. Occipital acquired ManCTL in June 2013, and since then we are working on bringing 3D computer vision to mobile. Check out our Structure Sensor!
